I'd imagine that not even Betas get that achievement since AAPG Beta is a separate install of the game so it wouldn't use the same achievements.

I got "Total [Dev]astation" back on July 6, 2016 according to Steam. However, there are some situations where a build that's about to go public gets tested in a ....non-Closed Beta way....

Still not as old as the average age of Beta Testers

I don't care if they're all 300 :dizzy: They're hands down the best in the business. I've worked on many games at many studios and no one has a beta team like ours. It's rare to get a mature, core, proactive beta team. So rare that when I tell other devs about them they have a hard time believing they exist.

Many of our betas are so talented at this point that they could walk into a games industry job with just their skills and time from beta testing AA. Heck, some of them have been doing it longer than I've even been in the industry.
The game wasn't made exactly to my specifications, so I feel it's broken.

But could they walk into a bar though?

Very good, but you still need casual players? Or is the link from the old forum outdated?

We need to get feedback and bug reports from all different types of players. There is no single group of people that make the best testers. If we only had the professional gamers, then we would have a game that only caters to that group. Conversely, limiting the program to casual gamers would frustrate the more serious fan base. To test the game from front to back, we need players of every type.

I never said otherwise. We have casuals, we have realism guys, we have high skill players, but underneath it all, you have to be mature, composed, and talented at testing.

If you're the greatest player in the world, but you're toxic, you won't make a good beta tester.
If you're the most serious realism player, but you don't bother filling out the test plans, you won't make a good tester.
If you sign up thinking you'll influence the game, you'll find out betas don't do that, and you won't make a good tester.

These aren't 1 to 1 examples of what has happened, but they do give you an idea of why great test teams are hard to find in the public.

It's why most studios only use internal QA or professional QA teams. We are lucky.

Diverse players are important, but being a good tester is key. Many people don't have what it takes or don't want to do the work, for REAL software testing. It's tedious, time-consuming, and rarely fun.

That's why I always say we have the best test team in the industry. I brag about them every chance I get.
The game wasn't made exactly to my specifications, so I feel it's broken.

Was just curious if anything was changed.
I remember the first beta guy I saw was {GHOST}-IGUANA years ago in a Ghost server AA3.

Thanks for the laughs! (Especially from the replies to this tweet.)
Theory and reality are not that different. In theory.
