Server attacks

So after months of attacks!
Is there any progress of securing AAPG from these attacks.
They are happening on daily occurrences now, it's not just us but other private hosted servers too, from my understanding. Aussie and New Zealand.

This has been a test of the emergency flame-fest system. Please do not adjust your set.
Outside of AAPG Official Servers, we can't really do much in regards to that.
If private servers are being attacked like what has been happening in Australia, then the owners will need to take steps towards protecting their hardware. That can be from changing IP's, Providers, and other things more complex.
However, there isn't really anything we can do on our end on the Development-Side.
Cheers,
It is sad to see this happening, but it is not only AAPG, they are attacking left and right everywhere...
We need to build a wall!!!!! HOOAH!!!! (Cyber Wall that is) LOL
The issue is really with poor manufacturer and user practices. Shipping devices with default passwords, default remote access rights and poor security practices from the end users are at fault for many problems.
As in other areas, "build a wall" isn't really a great solution.
Cheers,
Its like you live in an apartment with a manned lobby, you have a nice steak you want to eat, but there are people constantly knocking at your door so you have to get up and answer the door all the time and cant sit down to eat your nice steak.
Who are you going to call?
The house owner to have him set up some better rules for who the gate keeper let in to the building?
Or, the farmer and demand that he fixes so you can eat your steak?
I do hope you understand that was a pun, the "We Need To Build A Wall" I agree they have poor practices for the most part when it comes to security on the servers..
But since you mentioned it, building a wall may not be the greatest solution, it is however a better solution then our current border security!! (Anyway Ill shut up there)!!!

Jokes aside, there is nothing wrong in protecting a border, our India -Pakistan border is one of the world's most guarded border.

The ability for malicious actors to build botnets has been bolstered by poor security practices in the manufacture of devices like DVRs, security cameras, or other non-traditional web-connected objects.
To resolve the problem going forward, there are two sets of options:
- make it much more difficult to acquire a botnet by *not* shipping devices with built-in default passwords with remote access and control enabled
- require every single possible attack target to acquire expensive attack mitigation systems
It's cheap for manufacturers to change their firmware and practices. It's expensive for every server owner to pay for protection hardware and services (read: building walls).
I enjoyed this analogy.
Ah I get what your saying, now.. Agree!!
