I've put my G5 up for sale.. great sounding horrible surround .. since I bought it I've read it's a step back for creative in terms of positional audio.. bUT when my onboaRd ALC1150 has better positional you know it's junk.

Gonna get this.. hard to say what the competition is since its their first product.. but being Sennheiser.. I bet it will be good

If you are worried about positional audio, i wouldn't invest in sound at this point. Positional audio got so much worse with Win 7, and 10. Hopefully the next windows will make it better.

As far as MSFT last announced in 2015, there won't be any Windows versions past 10 (that could always change in the future).

come on Twitchr.. cant wait forever.. there are many audiophiles out there more than satisfied with positional sound.. just gotta find the right combo.. Sadly the G5 didnt come close to meeting my expectations.. So ya Next.. and this looks to be the next thing

My G930s have wicked positional audio (horizontally). It makes no sense but...?

I'd love to have someone compare their setup to a USB G930 because I can tell EXACTLY where someone is. (I posted a video awhile back of me following someone with my monitor off!)

are you using just an onboard sound card?

No. Nothing....just plugged into USB. [Dev]Soundy said something about the capabilities are built into the transmitter/headphones on these types. I have the Onboard turned off in the BIOS.

yeah typical "gaming headset" not really recommended by any audiophile, seems they come with their own 7.1 doesnt even look like you have an EQ with that.. I get sound is subjective but no chance they sound as clear as stereo cans with either a Dac/amp or higher end soundcard.

I also remember Soundy saying how basic this sound is in AAPG, that you dont need fancy equipment, maybe thats why the G5 isnt all that impressive, its actually the game not the equipment Ive never tried the G5 on another game but then again I dont care too much about other games.

also would make sense with all the negative feedback we got regarding the sound in the past.

this game needs an upgrade badly.. on every level

The gaming world need a common sound API thats actually worth something.
Sins MS abandoned the DX 3D sound API in favor of the crappy x-box api(XAudio2), game sound has been total crap.
