ram usage

so in Task Manager, it says AAPG opt in uses ~3,121,456K .. thats 3 gig of Memory.. is that normal? seems VERY high

Wondering if people can check theirs for comparison, wondering if something weird is going on here causing my in game choppyness.

I believe Rip told he his uses 1.7gig

I also had a few other unknown programs running taking up ram, steamWebhelper was one of them and another biggie..disabling them made my HUD game play much smoother.. so if AAgame is also taking up 3gig instead of 1.7gig that might be my issue..question is why.. and how to fix

    Yea that's pretty much it, so it a Beta bug? does that mean I have the wrong version of Steam? can I back track? .. obviously by that post Im not the only one, and there is no fix yet..

    mine doen't take as big of a hit as some people are saying but enough to make an in game difference. because after closing all that crap the game ran smoother.

    so thats only half the issue though.. the other half is why is my AAgame using 3gig of ram when others (Rip) is not

    Honestly I have no idea if I'm even in the Steam Beta.. at this moment I'm hoping that I am and that backing out will help.. I'll check as soon as I get home..

    Wonder if the high AAgame ram usage is also caused by Steam Beta.. omg if that's been my problem all along I'm going to kill Steam

    I wish AA could dissolve it's ties to Steam but keep PunkBuster (better than nothing).

    So unfortunately i'm NOT using Steam Beta, meaning the problem lies elsewhere

    So Wonkss has numbers like Rip ~1,766.600 which again is much lower than my 3+gig

    Have you tried disabling the Steam in-game overlay? I would think that would show up under Webhelper and other Steam tasks though...

    Alternate theory: are you using Canadian RAM instead of American? What's the exchange rate? I think 1 US RAM is worth about 1.2 Canadian

    I changed Physx in control panel to gfx card from Auto and its now running 2.4gig .. so better

    ill check overlay.. but if im not mistaken the overlay allows me to use in game browser..

    ps. Canadian ram probably much better just like we are at hockey

    If you're running anything extra in your GPU control panel (i.e AntiAliasing) your AAgame Mem usage will be higher.

    The game sucks up almost all of my 4Gb total along with anything else :lol: Not sure I ever checked before so I can't compare to what it used to do until opt-in is finished.

    Uni your game is taking up 1.6gig which is normal..mine is taking up 3+gig big difference...I do have 8 gig but the point is that my in game performance might be suffering from this.

    Ccor .. I'll take a look turn all that down and see what kind of difference it's making

    Ccor.. I didnt have any of the AA turned on in Control Panel.. I had it slightly turned on in game and Max Anisotroph was also turned to 6 so I turned that off as well.. i see better FPS it seems but nothing changed in memory usage.

    Funny I checked 1 min into game play and the usage was at 1.4gig.. then it creeped up to 2 gig then to 3 gig

    This game seriously is messing with me.. Ive got a pretty [TOS Violation] good PC, yet this game hates me!! every other game I'm just rocking except for this game.. whhhyyy God .. whyyyy

    This game need lot of code optimization, but if you ask to devs... "it's normal that AAPG need the same memory of BF4 or ArmA III " :blush:
