Doors don't fit in this cod-type, fast gameplay.

Remember the "doors" in those 2 testmaps in the opt-ins, what a letdown that was.

If doors make this version too slow paced then how about self-opening slide away doors like they have on most store fronts, hospitals, etc?

Doors play a big part of the map when implemented and if done right. It's a good way to bring the 'clearing rooms' type of gameplay to the game. Maps and people make the gameplay. Not just the game itself (core, mechanics).
    Oh well.

I agree 100%. At the moment, there is ONLY 1 map with perfect working doors.....and that's McLobster's Pipeline map. Most of not all the other ones are bugged. Pipeline's doors work perfect. they open in the right direction, you can crack them open....etc.

Ah, YEAH! Lots of doors have wheels. Barn doors, aircraft hanger doors, hospital sliding doors, ammo bunker doors, shall I go on?

In my mountain lair map I was able to get the doors to swing the right way... But every now and then they start bugging out where you can't shoot through them. Not sure if Mac overcame that in pipe

There is a massive tactical difference to a door being able to be cracked to a specific set angle as opposed to a door able to be cracked to any set angle the player chooses within the open/close action.

AA2 had so much more variety and 'advanced' gameplay over the current version. Getting a team mate to fire to cover the sound of the door opening, or nade pin pull was essential to breaching specific rooms.

In my opinion, having a door open and close, or open half way only adds nothing to the game.

AA2 doors were kind of stupid. Everyone would just crack every door so that it would slam shut before someone could open it. It's such a stupid mechanic and it definitely was a huge advantage for defense. Even still, I kind of miss it being like that.

So AA2 doors are amazing but something that's 90% as good adds nothing?

    Doors!

We breached this topic a while back. Discussion just revolved round and round and nothing swung our way. There's good news though, nothing was shut out.. so we can hope that there's an opening in the games future for them.

Not stupid, it was a good tactical element for defence to use and assault to overcome, if you were quick enough with the doubletap you could not let it slam.

Learning things like this made you more aware of your movements and the consequence your actions had. There is a reason so many people loved AA2 compared to this version.

The thing is.. defense does not need that extra advantage. Not saying I don't miss all those things but if you think about it... it was just a waste of time for assault and a great advantage for defense. Let's take Pipe as an example: let's say all Main Pump Room doors were 'cracked' (Main corridors, West entrance and Bathroom)... what did assault do most of the times? They had to go ahead and close all the doors properly (this is silly and time consuming.. but hey we had 5 to 8 mins anyway :p) before even thinking about smoking/peaking/nading/203ing otherwise defense would know exactly when to spam which door. It's almost like all doors had to be breached or were closed (with a key). Not saying it wasn't fun back then but not everything about aa2 was perfect.
    Oh well.

will try to figure out how to fix the doors problem

    #### SOLUTION of the DOOR Problem that doors open in both ways :awesome:
Click on AADoor - go to settings - search the open angle
-try which angle is which direction - (negative / positive)
-make the false direction inverse (turn the +/-)
if you will have an specific door angle by cracking look crack class

also will try to make a sliding and wheeling door class :-P
