Official map breakdowns
I have been thinking about doing this with inner hospital. I feel that we as a community could break down each map and post up a write up on how to attack and defend it, choke points, and things to watch out for. I'm talking about detailed write ups with screen shots and youtube videos for visual reinforcement.
Why? Because we have a very small player base and I find more and more, and this is very annoying, that players don't know what to do and or how to do a basic navigation through a map.
I feel this causes the veteran players to burn out and quit while also costing us new players because there is not enough material to help teach new players about the game. I find we have a large number of noobs, and a small number of quality vets, there really is no middle ground and to me that is conserning.
We could even extend this to a more basic tutorial on setting up sound, video, and mouse sesitivity in game. How to crouch, lean, sprint, aim, pull a nade but also COOK it.
None of this would matter if the devs won't support it, and by that I mean. If we do this, it needs to be on the official site or a locked sticky on the forums. There should be some way to get it to the attention of players who do not read the forums, meaning a message in the steam launcher or a clickable redirect in the main menu of the game.

This has been a test of the emergency flame-fest system. Please do not adjust your set.
But yes, a breakdown would be good. Especially for noobs.

I do believe though that there's no better way to learn than to just fire up the game, get in there and play it. Watching others and doing it yourself are two very different things, afterall.. videos don't learn anyone how to aim their gun, or emulate the pressure and nerves that can only come from being in game yourself.
EK, I thought you guys were doing help videos where people upload their videos and you break down any mistakes.. you guys not getting anything? I can give you a fair few fail videos I have on my HDD that would need someone with a bachelors degree in FPS playing to come to terms with
I love this community!
We don't have that type of reach yet to get regular submissions from people who legitimately want to be critiqued. Our audience is still limited to the comp community but we're trying to find a way to extend it to others.

lol, If for any reason they do that, specially in public that wouldn't be positive (for them). I'm really curious about the tips they can give. Maybe I would learn alot too. They sould do a public 'aapg help noob series'.
Over 2k Golden Hawkeyes.
I must have completely misunderstood the whole 'help a scrub' initiative when they mentioned it in the podcast.. I wasn't aware their were such a thing as bad comp players.. you'd never think it anyway.
I knew the podcast was primarily aimed at a comp audience, just thought I'd offer some help if they get stuck for video submissions.
I really need to start checkin' myself, before wreckin' myself I guess
