New laptop having 30Fps?

Hey guys I bought Acer Predator 17

i7-6700HQ Quad Core Processor 2.6GHz ; 17.3" Full HD (1920 x 1080) widescreen LED-backlit IPS display ; NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 980M windows 10

but game runs in 30 fps? :(

is that normal?

    Your game is most likely running off your on board graphics.

    Go into your BIOS and see if "on-board" or "integrated" graphics is selected. Then just make sure your "Dedicated" GPU is selected. (If you have one.)

    Press and hold down F4 or F9 while booting to get to the BIOS screen.

    You may be aware, but: I'd recommend setting the framerate smoothing to 60 since your display is 60Hz. Won't make it work any harder than it has to. I'm on a laptop, too, same processor but 960M instead of 980M, and it can go higher than 60, but can't show more.

    I'd recommend not doing that. AAPG FPS are a joke. 90 FPS are definitely smoother than 60.

    If your pushing more frames than your monitor allows.. don't that cause screen tearing?
    If my trollery drives you crazy, you'd better put on your seatbelt.
