Well...I've used demorec. It is NOT user friendly. The few guys that put vids together with it....well....I'm really impressed!

    It still needs work.

Wasn't the inclusion of things like demorec supposed to help the comp community? I mean a lot of folks lobbied for it and now its in, comp is where? a few player made events trying to rally support to keep what few comp players still around, around? what happened to ESL and all that good stuff? Wasn't Demorec constantly blabbed by many for a long time (until we got it) to be the savior of comp. Why has it seemingly had the opposite effect?

If I were a dev I'd wonder if listening to the community about all these cool things that will/should make this game better.. is actually a good idea and people wonder why they don't post or acknowledge ideas, or don't seem to want to consider certain changes

The new sound engine, which must have been a massive undertaking in itself, has gone down like a penny in a well.. heck people are even starting to ask for the old way back

Demorec would have probably helped the comp community if the comp community still existed. Demorec came too late. The vast majority of the comp players left a long time ago. The game will take a lot of changes for them to come back.

Personally, I think it'd take something (or a lot of things) big for the fortune of this game to change.

I'll admit, maybe we don't know what's best for this game. Maybe our suggestions would make the game less popular. For most pub players, it really doesn't matter much how popular the game is. As long as there are players in the server, then who cares if there are 1 million people playing or 1 thousand. However, from a standpoint of game health or competition, more players are an absolute necessity.

Comp was dead before demorec so not sure how it was the "opposite effect" exactly. Anyway, it has nothing to do with it, people just don't enjoy the game and/or its progress anymore. Maybe I've been in the "wrong" teams but accusations weren't really a part of what I experienced in comp. I've never felt the urge to get a demo of player x so I think it's just a great tool to assure fair play for a few concerned people.

I'd give my left nut for a couple thousand more players, I'd then give my right for a more diverse community of people who are not the same 20 people. Nothing against anyone but the reason I have been less active of late (not just because of the holiday season) is because of the monotony of these forums and its posters.

it just always seems like nobody is ever satisfied with anything, nor will ever be.. there's always a problem with everything that is added or changed in the game and with that mindset it's little wonder the game is not as popular as it could be. There are things we don't like in everything.. not just AA but any game but with AA I think we have a sense of being heard, that we can manipulate change and when something that's been asked for and adopted is not exactly as we imagined it to be, its an auto fail. It's ourselves whom are guilty of not enjoying the game as we cant allow ourselves to see past anything but perfection, our own ideas of what we think will make the game better.

If by now anyone here really don't like the game, for whatever reason even with your thousands of hours of playtime and support.. I not only fear it's too late for you, I fear your also wasting your breath and time. Try and enjoy the game for what it is and hope that the future can and will be better, that's what I tell myself. We've been playing this game for years, its OK to be bored and want new or exciting changes or changes to all sorts of things we believe will make thousands flock to the game, but its a highly unrealistic attitude to still be hanging onto.

    Keep it real.

The best thing about the game is the ability to get on a server with a bunch of other people and goof off! This is why BeerMe is such a hoot!

If you're too serious, maybe that's the problem.....?

Demorec still has many bugs, you have to select spectator if you don't want to get stuck with scoreboard at the end of 1st round. You cant rewind without crash, you can't stop or pause without crash, you can't jump to certain timestamp. The names are bugged if the player you are spectating gets killed ( you have to switch cameras) so it's very bad for making videos out of it.
Demorec file names with timestamps do not match the server local time, so for public servers you need to take notes to find the right demo file as admin.

UI is missing badly as others mentioned. I would really love to get a road map about the future of demorecs.

BeerMe is the only reason why I've continued to play this game for a while now. Even then, I don't think I've touched the game in a week or so.

I am of the same opinion as necabo. The only thing that keeps me playing is gaming with people that I have gamed with for 10 years. Not the game itself. As a dev, you either have to know the right thing to do or be able to filter and listen to the people who do know the right thing to do. Until they have this then the game is already dead. Here's to hoping that 2016 will bring in a game that has this (most likely it will be in another title though).

And now compare that with what pasclan did 1.x-2.x and what videos where possible with their demorec tools '''x) - with only serverside support, no distribution, no userfriendly interface, bugs .. demorec can only be used by a small minority in a very limited way

HUD is actually a good point, yet you made troll posts about it discrediting players not playing without it so you shouldn't be too surprised about getting called a troll. Personally preferred the way AA3 HUD was but it's something I wouldn't consider top priority.

Not to mentioned bs posts about monitors, Nvidia dsr and now now even saying he is playing 3D with Nvidia vision on a monitor that doesn't support it. Gähhhn.

120hz all that is needed for 3D. The Training HUD overlay creates a cartoon effect on top of a great MidSIM game. Try just once play cross hair & activity feed only for two weeks don't give up on it very tuff but your mind will thank you for exercising it, really does take the game & mind to the next level.

FYI you will need to rebind the full map toggle for ease of access M sucks. For me it's a pinkie.

ummm, all 3D monitors are 120Hz monitors, but not all 120Hz monitors are 3D monitors.

Pie charts + Graphs= Very Bad.

No offence you can't even turn off the training HUD or dive into settings. Doubt you ever dive deep into nivida underworld to see what can be done.

Where is my mind? in the 4k & 3D 7.7 surround world of gaming.. headphone wearing desk jockies are never at my level. Immersion baby it's all about immersion nothing else matters...

Example of sweet 4k @ 60FPS while recording: suck it :o

This changes the fact that not all 120hz monitors are 3D how?

Do you even own a pair? i've made it run at 100hz on a crt. The shutters in the glasses run at 60 the 120hz just makes for a smoother experience.. and yes can run on any monitor the experience may suck but can run... AMD is a little easier on the hz requirements..

Colts sometimes i think...ahh nevermind.. use google more and complain less please. ;) thanks.

P.S. did you notice the no HUD in the video ? that is how masters play.

I think your problem is too much Google with little knowledge. For you to run 3d with Nvidia vision you do need a monitor that supports it. You can't simply use any monitor at 120hz and get the right output the glasses can translate into 3d perspective..

And then we are the trolls right.. Lel

Isn't the source material the 3D part? (for example.. the movie itself) I thought that's why watching a 3D movie on a normal TV/monitor screen looks crappy and allsorts of messed up.

Also isnt 3D actually crap? I heard it was a whole lot of smoke for such a tiny fire.. I've never witnessed it with my eyeballs.. so my knowledge of anything about it is real slim
