I saw that, DEVs are definitely stirring the pot. First a new game built on UE4 and now 203 in AAPG? What a week. o:)

Now that's a beauty. Ahhh M4 with 320 underneath and ACOG on the top. That would be a wonderful world. :p

The only things that help a player improve are faster target acquisition and the ability get your crosshair on the guy's head quickly. These are mechanics that can be learned playing any FPS game. Some players are a lot better than others at it, but it's not something that playing AA exclusively would make you better at doing. Also, controlling recoil is hardly a skill, pull down and left and then adjust for any small variations in horizontal movement, doesn't even take much thought or practice to master.

Personally, I think the hold breath system is one of the bigger issues. For me, as soon as my crosshair gets anywhere near a player (or as soon as I zoom in), I immediately hold the jump button to hold my breath. They go perfectly together, I don't even think about it. In that case, I practically almost never have sway to deal with unless I take too long to kill the guy. The mechanic in the prior games was 100 times better and the Devs for some reason don't have any desire of considering it.

Exactly my point in better english, thank you sir. At least I don't have to feel alone any more.

Looking back at how this game was released I like your sense of humor.

I want to see things that make teamwork easier...THAT would add a lot to the game.

I find the present tools......VOIP is it I guess....not good enough unless you have a clan you practice various tactics with. I've said this before: for new players and people that don't know each other, the timeframe and social dynamics are too constrained to REALLY get teamwork to gel. People at best go and do more or less what they think might help the team.

There is no "you go here and you go there and on three, we'll breach..." kind of thing...

Add to that the achievements for skins etc means that good players are in the pubs harvesting the newbs for points even more than ever, and we have a counterproductive system on our hands.

New people come in, don't have a clue what to do or where to go, get hosed, and leave.

When did fun leave the game , Why can't we just let it be fun and that's it?
Any ideas that make it fun , then I'm all for it. If you want competition based games perhaps this isn't the game for you?

In my book after 100 hours if not less. Fun playing from then on was and is in playing with friends. It certainly isn't a game I'd play on my own because of said lacking long-time motivation.

I think if the game was more engaging it would be better although I'm not sure how it would be more engaging. maybe some better team tactics, Multiple objectives possibly? I feel the same as necabo most of the time. I don't even play when I'm on weird hours because its not engaging. however when playing with a bunch of friends it is great.

I have never played a game where that happens in public servers. It just doesn't. There are too many different types of players. You can't force teamwork on players unless they want to play as a team. Also, when you have large skill gaps, it is also counterproductive to team work. Lesser skilled player follows better player... better player gets bothered by lesser skilled player because they're slowing them down or doing things to alert the enemy of their whereabouts. Lesser skilled player gets bothered because higher skill player moves too quickly, takes all the kills, etc.

I've been playing team based multiplayer FPS games since like 1998 and I've never come across any game where public play was anything but the most basic and casual of organized teamwork. Most players just go free for all and then just work together out of proximity rather than necessity.

Exactly , and that's why we need to stop gauging this game on what will or will not work in pub servers , How many pub servers did you see in AA2 .
The longevity of this game is found in team based game play clans , private servers etc...
Private servers offered variety and every server ran the way their clients seemed to like it and there was always something for everyone, not this cookie cutter crap like COD. We can buy that anytime this game has always been a step beyond the norm and should continue to be that way.

Roach had a good point about fun. And SSKnecabo had a good response. Honestly that's the case. There are other games I've played well beyond that 100 hour mark and come back to and played, without friends, cause the game itself is pure fun. Friends were a huge part of AA for me though. It's a game that I want to get into just cause it's an AA title but it's honestly kind of hard to get into it. I think part of the fun is gone because of some lacking mechanics :3. Sometimes player movement is awkward and your player feels a little bulky or clumsy, maybe lacking responsiveness, but that's just my opinion. Weapon mechanics, enough has been said on that. Maps as well, and plenty has been said about those as well. Sometimes geometry feels weird, but that one's just me.

As far as teamwork, people need to learn that teamwork is what wins, until then, I really don't like seeing point-based incentives or what not. Learning to work with other people is something that develops over the progression of an FPS players..... ? life? Just like shooting mechanics, basic tactics, and learning maps. I don't want to see any incentives for teamwork.

Why does no one ever suggest ways to PROMOTE teamwork? This belief it can't be done is self-fulfilling.

The idea that strangers will talk about it in five seconds is ludicrous.

It's not that pub players are stupid. They don't get to practice on a clan server with a "GAME OFF" scenario where you talk about stuff.

Come play with the beer me crowd and you'll see old school teamwork. It's amazing the chatter that goes on during large long timed maps. Ie; I played CSAR on another server the other day, and they had the sever at default 4 minutes, and let me tell you...,, it sucked! You felt rushed, there was absolutely no teamwork involved, just bunch of Rambos running around. The assualt side got destroyed.

Every time I play it in the beer me server with 7 minutes. I get my blood pumping and goosebumps. Because no one is rushed teamwork is amazing. I got north... Yeah 4 us going south, ok I'll cover bombed building.... Cool, Ill watch assault window. Dame I'm doing you got guy in blue and one far south upper. Ok cool I'll cover you, fall back. They got the hawk, fall back to the pilot. Ok ok you got north? I watching south entrance to pilot.

Around after round of that, gets the jucies going.

    Aka FUN!

Every game has competition so you have grudge with people who play competition for whatever reason I got some ideas but I don't care, the reality is if it works for competition its going to work for public play as well. A boring game leads to a small group of people playing competitive. There is a reason why the more popular the game is the bigger the competition community is. That doesn't mean the game has to be geared strictly for competition it doesn't work like that. All of the ideas and feedback I have seen in these forums have little to do with competition if anything at all and more for improving the overall game experience. But anytime a comp player provides feedback this is how some of you act, quite pathetic.
Pie charts + Graphs= Very Bad.

Yes yes , a thousand pardons oh great one,
Wake up dude , I'm not saying comp is bad I just think that there are a lot of people just playing for fun.
There is plenty of room in the game for both types of players. But somehow you feel your way is the only way , well its not and it never will be so wise up.

There is room for both types of players, which is why this discussion even exists. Right now, the game completely disregards competition by catering 100% to casual gamers.
Competitive and fun are not mutually exclusive, that is some weird myth that was created to blindly defend a game with broken mechanics.

    - "Both types of players" - Really Competitive players don't play for fun well what do they play for then?
    - "My way is the only way" - Really because I said that.
    - "I'm not saying comp is bad" Yep I definitely said you said that.

Let me summarize this thread as well. "We need a 203 so we can stop good players from rushing all over and owning us. That way we can sit back and wait for them to rush and blow them up! Instead of learning how to beat this person 1on1 or 5on1 and stop his rush we need a weapon to balance out the playing field so I don't get owned so much."

"I would also like body armor added to the game so if someone goes 0-4 they get body armour for the next round."

"I would also like a claymore/landmine so I can sit back camping sniper perch and not have to worry about my flank. It's so annoying when people flank me."

"I would also like martydom if I die 6 times in a row a grenade instantly blows a person up trying to secure me"
Pie charts + Graphs= Very Bad.
