A new mic feature that'd be cool to add

The feature would let you without pressing a button talk to the people that are close to you and are in your area. It would be like open mic. If your whispering the guy next to you can hear you but not people that are far away. If your yelling or talking loud you can hear them from a ways away. You would still be able to talk to your whole team by pressing the team chat button. I played with this feature before on socom confrontation. I could hear enemies talking in the room beneath me or in a building I was standing next to. The sound was kind of muffled. Pretty neat. I could also hear teammates directing people where to go being near them. Cool feature. Makes the game more realistic.

Even if they're using voice chat for say, ghosting, it would be nice to hear some kind of chatter incase he's using tactical mode.

If it could be implemented without a whole lot of trouble (seeing stuff that deals with the FPS drops would be a much higher priority than this, for instance), I think this could be cool. The only downside would be that sometimes I like being crazy and screaming wildly at some points. :D This is really fun when you're the last guy.

sounds similar to what I have been pushing for. Would like to see directional team speak looked at. Would be helpful in teamwork and firefights if you could hear direction that team mates are talking from. would increases situational awareness greatly

pretty sure this is some next gen engine level stuff that may not be possible on an old engine like unreal engine 3. As for voice activation no thanks, I have to mute enough people already. Especially with how quiet footsteps are now. I do like where your ideas are coming from though. Just don't like the consequences your not taking into consideration.

That would be a really, really cool feature indeed.
With what we use (Unreal 3 and Team Speak) I don't think it'd be a possibility though.
Certainly something worth looking at though.
The game wasn't made exactly to my specifications, so I feel it's broken.

How about in-game comms like ROGER & NEGATIVE for people for whatever reason can't or won't use a MIC.

All want is direction ( NSEW ) comms and rgr & neg using the sweet voice talent that AA possesses. :)

AA2 & 3 had so many communication options.. using your hands was the best from AA2 and that Comm wheel in AA3 well layered and useful could make complete sentences with it.

FYI AA2 had zoned communication in early 2000 why can't it be done now? whisper was awesome, or whole team shouting UP/ SOUTH attacking B on mountain ambush. And we all know what UP/South sounded like in their foreign tongue. :*

They can do a pop-up text chat option similar to WT with preloaded verbal commands but I think the purpose of "this" game is to get people communicating with each other--old style.

AA3 comm wheel was the best... just add shout, whisper, squad & hands to it. AA:PG would be perfect!!

If a player is abusing this function, then someone can team vote to ban their voice/Com for the match.

Hey, mute votes, no harm, no foul... people vote to mute and muted gets to keep playing but is aware of his behavior, I like it LALA.

On our clan TS we used a custom setup for ladder matches, to cut back on chatter we used different channels, with voice activation to talk to your squad and press to talk to the whole team. Worked good, we even had a way to talk to dead teammates without disturbing players still alive.

The problem with voice activation is the noise you don't want to hear like someone eating, coughing,tv,or talking to people in their house.

That's why I said you could team vote to mute their voice or comm if they have all kinds of background noise. Maybe add a toggle voice button players can turn on or off. A player can choose to use it or a admin can choose to use it during that match.

Doesn't this describe the existing PTT?

is this ingame comms like ARMA 3 or DayZ? These games use it, it is a dead giveaway when directional sound works well. the talking sound emitted from the pawn doesn't carry too far, so someone spamming this type of chat is more often then not only causing themself harm - just alerting the opfor that they are near. personally, i would rather they put the effort into VIP or fixing the prone glitch or making the medic role work right in AAPG first.
