I've seen two versions of Mountain Pass. One played by Brazilians which has a simple "reach the trucks alive" extract on the road just left of the valley exit but no back route and no high level path, and one which seems to be Swiss, is never populated and has all the original routes but two extract points, one where the Brazilians have theirs and a clone of the original somewhere on a cutting of the back route, which makes it almost impossible to control with only 12 per side. I'd just like to play the original exactly as it was.

Original bridge had a peripheral route to the right of the bridge to avoid the bridge and you could use it directly or by going under the bridge from the left. It made the game less of a one way street kill fest. I'd like to play that too. In fact I'd like to play all the originals exactly as they were and pretend I was young again! ;)

According to one site, the original single-path Bridge shipped with 1.0.0 (July 2002). Bridge SE and its alternate routes shipped with 1.7.0 (May 2003?).

This was the new Mountain Pass SE that came in later.
Both maps where available to play, but very few servers, except the Official ones, where running the original Mountain Pass, most private server ran the Mountain Pass SE version.

You are referring to Bridge SE.
The orriginal Bridge, you had to make it accross the bridge to get to the other side.
But contrary to the bridge map we have now, the environement was very fogy, you could not see the other tower from your side, you had to reach middle towe to be able to see the other side.
We also had 203 grenade launchers. :D

And could throw nades over middle tower from the catwalks. Loved being able to hear somebody on the ladder and cooking a nade to airburst right over their head on the catwalk. 203's made the game AMAZINGLY more interesting, espcially on maps like Insurgent Camp. Being able to dropshot on bridge was lame, though. *aim this far off of that branch right at spawn and kill 4 people before they even get to the bridge* was a bit cheap, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss the 203.

I would love to play more snowy/tundra terrain maps, as long as the terrain elevation of the outdoor areas are well thought out.
