I know that trying to find a new chair to get comfortable in is about as scary as throwing away your old tennis shoes and then having to go buy a new pair. They hurt and just don't feel the same.

Heh heh. I think this thread should start with "SO.......how old are you?"

I've been slouching forever and it eventually even hurts your digestion! The discs in my lumbar spine are long since knackered. I'm 51. Gaming is all about stubbornness...today I did a LAN party for 8 hrs. You young whippersnappers up for that?

    :D

Hey Doba...do you find when you move any weight that your mouse hand isn't as accurate for a bit? I'm having a rough go with that.

I have ten years plus on Keebler and haven’t done any weight training since I quite racing. I spend the majority of my day sitting in a plain swivel desk chair that’s got to be 25 years old. I have aches and pains (including lower back) from a variety of past injuries and old age. I wish I could get my employer to fork out for a proper chair. As it stands I don’t game enough to justify a fancy big $ chair for home. However, I think a well-used one may find its way into my gaming room soon. ;)
Funny thing, for nearly thirty five years I have slept on a “full motion” water bad. :)

    ?

My hands and wrists are getting stiff due to 30 years of repetitive work in a factory plus lots of gaming and sports, so when I work out, anything that requires grip like a pull down or a curl will leave my hands without fine motor skills.

Sounds like a lack of proper stretching after workout. Of course age difference does make a huge difference as well. Mid twenties I could have gamed 8 hours straight without feeling fatigue, nowadays need to take a break after 1-2 hours

Try standing and stretching while you're waiting for new round to start.. I also do planks.. it's the punishment for dying

..my new gel memory mattress came in.. I bought that instead... for now I'm using a neck roll pillow thing as lumbar support on current chain and sitting straighter up ..we'll see

how about a doctor visit instead of throwing the money out the window on wonder gadgets, problems are obviously not related to the chair.

I've been playing this game, on average probably 4 hours a night or more since Ver 1.2. I have a ordinary office chair. Right now I have no issues. I had about a year where it was killing me. Maybe I've just destroyed it enough to get past the pain?

You speak the truth.. Ive actually been to a chiropractor before and it helps.. however thats a lot of $$ over a long period of time..
and I wouldnt say investing in a good Bed and Chair is a waste of money.. actually money well spent.

A great chair salesman once said to me
"People buy expensive mattresses for their backs, but spend 8 hours a day in an office and want the cheapest option for their posture"
I bought the $350 chair that day and my back is fine

This is a chair i've had my eye on since I hurt my back this year. Long story.

If you have this, let me know how it's working for you.

Looks promising .. all these ergo chairs are very similar.. they all have bulging lumbar support which forces you to sit more up right and not slouched over.. some come with head rest some don't
