    No API = no external tracking sites.

    Would be nice if the AA.com tracker was built into game. I'd love to just right click a guy on the scoreboard and have two options:
    1) See Steam profile (can then proceed to add friends)
    2) See AA.com stats/profile.

    It would be perfect.

    We planned on releasing an API to our database that sites could use before the game released, but there wasn't time to get it done with the new website launching at the same time. It is something we are going to start working on again soon because 3rd party sites have always been a great part of the AA community.

    Personally, I only ever liked AAOTracker because it was somewhere to keep track of stats. If AA.com stats was built into the game (so I can easily see someone I'm on a server with's stats) and there were stats by map, there would never be a need for any other stat site.

    A more in-depth way to query the game server its self for player information would be awesome. Thats how AAOT worked, and it worked great.

    I agree with whip. Would be cool to be able to see player stats within the game.

    @Deadly / Whip

    One thing to keep in mind, The native stats tracking (Your AAPG profile page) is WAY more advanced than it was in AA2. Its also way more accurate than AAOT. Everyone remembers the Stat Jocks, (Oh no i died! *opens console and reconnects) The Native stats tracking in AAPG does not allow this type of stats padding, as the stats are stored when you disconnect. Unlike an AAOT type site that scans servers every X minutes. However, unlike AAOT it does not track sessions or map specific stats. Which is the only up side of 3rd party server by server stats tracking.

    So just a quick recap.

    AAOT (BattleTracker)
    Obtains stats by scanning servers periodically to store stats of players in the server.
    Pros: More in-depth session / map by map stats display.
    Cons: KDR is easily padded by reconnects

    AAPG Stats Tracking
    Integrated with game. Stats are uploaded every time the player is disconnected.
    Pros: Accurate Stats, Difficult, if not impossible to pad.
    Keeps Track of Achievements.
    Individual Weapon / Grenade Stats.

    Cons: No support for Individual sessions, or map by map stats.

    I'll end this post by saying i am in no way taking away from what homey has done with battle tracker. Its absolutely great. I'd be all for it tracking AAPG like it once did AA2.

    However, Don't turn a blind eye to the awesome tracking system the DEV team has created. I'd rank it right up there with EA's BF4 Stats tracking.

    What about ppl leaving last round for stats padding when they are about to lose a match? Has this been fixed?
  • ziozio Posts: 109Player
    No need to "reconnect". Launcher "crash" => stats not updating. Correct me if i'm wrong.

    Stats are recorded when you leave the server. However if the match isn't technically won or lost How can a stat point be given one way or the other? Also, the player most likely would not receive credit for "MatchesCompleted" either. I guess what I am saying is I do not see what needs to be fixed there. But that is a great example. Something I never put thought too until now.

    @GoA]z!o[N]cya[ any time the AA Launcher is disconnected, it seems your connection with the auth server is lost.

    I'm sure everyone has clicked the "Bug Report" button on that a time or two. I'd like to see it resolved soon too. But this is more Auth Related than stats tracking.

    Long post.

    I'm not sure what you mean by map by map. Are you saying each match played or each map that is played. Remembering back to battletracker you probably mean match by match like where it showed the date and what servers you played on and those stats ect. I don't see why they wouldn't be able to integrate that into the native stats. they already check in real time.

    Then again im not even sure this post is relevant to anything or I'm just rambling. Need more coffee.

    I believe there is support for individual sessions and by map stats. There is just no stats gui for this yet. I'm sure AAPG has enough stats to do everything AATracker did and more. In addition to those two things, I really want to see leader boards broken down by career, map, and weapons.

    Do the stats even keep track of games won anymore? I think it just shows rounds won. Makes more sense to do it that way.

    @Whiplash27 here is a debug print out focusing on the different stats kept for rounds / matches

    [MatchesCompleted] => 27
    [MatchesLost] => 9
    [MatchesWon] => 15

    [RoundsLost] => 13
    [RoundsWon] => 187

    So to answer your question whip, both are tracked.

    @12ampage
    I've seen nothing yet to support that, I hope your correct, but so far i have yet to see such stats. (I've seen more than most) What i can confirm is tracked are Weapon Stats, Objective Captures and Achievements.

    @{4F}DeadlyGrouse
    Map Stats can be viewed here http://battletracker.com/playerstats/aao/112803/MOIC@NO/

    Please refer to the map stats box, for an example of the "map by map" stats

    It doesn't Have it as a calculated value but it does show how many you won and lost if you scroll down the list before the weapons in career stats.

    I disagree, as in my previous post, its there, maybe just not displayed correctly.

    This was a major problem in old beta and many players still do it very often.. if they are already dead or team has no chance of winning the last round of a match they simply leave server to prevent their stats showing match lost.

    I do not know how it is in the final release.
