i have been away for 3 years now.
Currently running on a laptop (ok), missing my main rig.
Personal update.
I am _about_ one hoop away from joining Infantry.
Canada Armed Forces Infantry.
I am 52.
I think they are going to push it through, because
it will make me the oldest Infantry recruit graduate in Cannada, possibly Commonwealth history.
Yes, I understand the gravity of this. Pushing the envelope.
And, if selected, I will try, just because there are . so so so so many people would would give anything to have this opportunity.
salty but stoked

LEGEND! wanting to defend your country at your age, good luck man!
Maybe if you are successful it will set an example for others to follow. I'm not sure about Canada but in Britain ones age can be a real stumbling block for people when they are out of; and looking for work, employers here tend to be really picky.
Oh and Welcome back!
And I would be pushing the envelope. The oldest infantry graduate in cannada was 51 , and even he was a prior service bloke. ( I think )
My initial test scores were high enough for any position.
They wanted me for Officer. and I wanted fighter pilot;
but, just a little to old for pilot, and my eyes do not qualify.
"__give me 11 Bravo__" Maybe looking at a 50/50 chance of it going through.
I still feel good - most of the time. I know I can do it. It is just such a huge crazy epic leap.
Either way, not worried about it, It is out of my hands.
The thing that gets me is how young the cadet recruits are, how young they look.
unfortunately. the eyes are borderline for infantry, so I am trying for EO.
electronic-optronic technician.
very exciting. and it has been a rollercoaster ride.
I first applied 12 - 13 years ago.
can I still do infantry? yeah I think I've still got it.
