The should get an email after submitting for the AFA tag. If not, then put in a general support request for it.

I out mine in, got the email and responded but out in the wrong date I joined. I re submitted it with the current date after searching for paperwork, 1989 was a long time ago... I'm not sure how long it takes to verify, 17 years ago I think we submitted a copy of our ID Card or DD-214. I don't know how long it takes but the email is pretty clear
