Weapon challenge not counting kills

My m16 isn’t counting kills regardless the site and it doesn’t specify a site to use it’s been stuck for weeks and it’s very frustrating as it’s my primary weapon can someone shed some light on this situation for me ?

Some M16 challenges require you to get kills as a specific role. Look for the description, it'll probably say to "get kills as rifleman" or "get kills as designated marksman" (or something similar). Kills only count if you are getting them in that specific role.

Yep, iirc the first is on rifleman and the second is Marksman, I quit paying attention after that.

Yeah, something like that. You get "universal" challenges after these two.

When you are using enemy guns, you still earn points towards your next soldier rank. But you naturally the kills you get with it won't count for the challenge. Only US weapons have challenges, and it'd be silly if kills with enemy weapons would count towards that.

    There multiple classes
    Rifleman m4 , m16 and shotgun
Designated marksman got m16 too and ebr rifle. (With far sight scopes)

Mostly only two slots for designated and unlimited slots for rifleman

There is no difference. "Marksman" is just used as the shortened version of "designated marksman".
The 4 roles/classes are: Rifleman, Automatic Rifleman (sometimes called machine gunner), (Designated) Marksman and Sniper.

So in order to finish my marksman on my “automatic” marksman I have to use the sniper version of it? That doesn’t make sense it should be in its own class

Also is there ever a “completion” of the gun ranges? I’m on ps4

The M16 is available for 2 classes: the rifleman and marksman. (There is no "automatic marksman" role.) To complete all the challenges you need to use the weapon in each role it was made for - this kind of makes sense for me, but I see why it can be annoying.

What you mean under gun rages? If you mean the Giunta and Swenson ranges, then no, those are for unlimited practice - you cannot complete them. If you mean the weapon-specific ranges, e.g. the M4 shoothouse, then yes, you can complete them but you may repeat them as many times as you want trying to improve you score.
(Sorry if I wrote something not relevant, I don't know what is exactly available in the PS4 version.)

Yeah the shoothouse what is that? Where do I find that? Or maybe it’s not available on ps4 I see videos about it but never know what it is I assumed it was the ranges like guinta

Look around in the Training menu. If they are in the PS4 version, you should find them there.

Shoothouse maps aren't on the PS4, just the training ranges.
The game wasn't made exactly to my specifications, so I feel it's broken.

But how do they then unlock the shoothouse challenges then ?
    Steam - YouTube

I wish they were as fast in fixing bugs as they are in closing topics.

They probably have a different one. :)
