Ping is high

My ping in games such as CSGO or Fortnite is 30-50 but on AAPG on the Brows Servers most servers show 30-80 ping but when i join and play i is realy unstable no matter what server i join it bounces fron 30 to 140. Just curious is this the case for everyone or is it just me and if so any tips on how i can fix it keep in mind its only on aapg this happens.

The easiest way for any game to make you feel 'happy' is to filter the ping data. Don't think that a game is a network tool with 100% real time scientific ping data. Those checks have to be shared with other server calculations in order to have the game be playable. We DON'T want the game to spend 100% resources on accurate ping checks. What I'm saying is, it's not easy to tell how accurate that info is at any moment in time. Not to say there isn't an issue, but it's really tough to compare from one to another.

A lot of network effects are out of our (the player's) control out on the Internet somewhere. For gaming, all you can do is make sure you're not using wifi to play, and that nothing is downloading in the background.

Bouncing ping is indicative of a network path that is over-utilized, unstable or has latency issues.

Perform a tracert (in a cmd window) to output the routing data to the server in question and see if there are any nodes long the path that have a long ping time.

Here's an example output from my office to Google's DNS server.
    C:\Users\UserName>tracert 8.8.8.8

    Tracing route to google-public-dns-a.google.com [8.8.8.8]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

      1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 10.1.1.1
      2 1 ms 1 ms 1 ms bzmmt002dr9-ge-1-1-0-u0.int.bresnan.net [69.144.188.164]
      3 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms host-69-144-130-26.static.bresnan.net [69.144.130.26]
      4 2 ms 2 ms 2 ms host-69-144-94-104.static.bresnan.net [69.144.94.104]
      5 5 ms 4 ms 4 ms host-69-146-192-2.chy-wy.client.bresnan.net [69.146.192.2]
      6 4 ms 4 ms 4 ms host-72-175-110-219.static.bresnan.net [72.175.110.219]
      7 4 ms 4 ms 4 ms 72.175.111.225
      8 4 ms 4 ms 4 ms 108.170.252.209
      9 4 ms 4 ms 4 ms 209.85.254.131
     10 4 ms 4 ms 4 ms google-public-dns-a.google.com [8.8.8.8]

    Trace complete.

As you can see, all hops are less then 10ms, so I'm good to go.

You can perform the same trace to the IP of the server you want to play on to see the routing information.

If you have any bottlenecks, you have two choices... 1) Choose a different server or 2) Talk to your ISP support to see if they can set a new route for you (which is unlikely, but possible, as I had this done for me when I lived in Australia and had pings of greater than 300ms for the Official Servers in USA).

    OIC!
