Is the suppressor available in the PS4 version of game? If not, is there plans to add it?

There isn't a suppressor in the game at all currently. It COULD happen but there are no plans as of now.
The game wasn't made exactly to my specifications, so I feel it's broken.

All is possible if one sets his mind to it.

Wouldn't a suppressor essentially do nothing at the ranges that firefights occur in this game? Unless we obviously do things movie style and make it much more quiet than it is in real life.

IRL, a suppressor makes a big difference.
With sub sonic ammo the noise is mostly gone, you'll hear the mechanism louder than the round.
(a .22 bolt action rifle would be hard to hear beyond 15m)
With supersonic ammo, not so much, the muzzle noise is reduced a lot, but the sonic crack is still very much there, the advantage is that it will be hard to determine the position of the shooter.

As for the game, i dont know how they would implement it.
The could make a new sound for the gunshot, but i guess they would also have to add supersonic crack as rounds pass close to the pawn(we had that in AA3)

IMHO tho, it dont really add that much in game as it would still make a noise that players with decent sound would pick up.

    Edit:
A video that fairly well displays the difference.

We had bullet 'crack' early in the Open Beta here too, as I recall.
