Hit reg vs Doba's Ego

In this instance ego represents those times where a player questions the games hit reg. You know all those "omg how are you not dead" moments!

We all get them, doesn't matter how good or bad a player is.. there are always those moments.

This will be my ego vs hit reg thread, I will post short clips to examine how exactly the enemy didn't die. In the end we will see if the hit reg is really that off..or are players too quick to judge!

I will continually post short vids for review and keep a point system..

    the first burst is a miss, but I adjust and even in the slow motion I think Im directly on the head.. but the bullet I see hitting the wall slightly to the right? .. whats up with that

    another one that looks like a great shot IRT however at a closr slower look, the bullets were slightly right and maybe neck area? .. a little off I can see the no kill.. but in real time it sure looked good no

    dont have the real time.. but I was like huh? .. anyways.. after missing to the right a quick adjust and I was all over his head.. but was it jumping all around his head? or do you think there should have been a head shot?

    There's been times when we had an idle player, so I would kill him off to save time. Shoot him point blank in the face, paint flies off, and no kill.. lol

    But yeah I see it too Doba

    1. first 2 bullets missed. since you died so close to firing 3 and 4 it could have been lag delayed report of him shooting you? or was he supported there? 2 possibilities...
    2. looks like he was facing the OBJ somewhat with his back to you and you hit him sideways in the back of the shoulder...
    3. his left elbow/forearm
    4. they basically all missed.
    5. right over the helmet.

    you do see how in real time though it does look like you're all over the guy!! it takes extreme slow motion to really see what happened..

    I think these two could be a great example why i'd like to push for a smaller dot.. I mean in slow motion in 1080p I see the dot all over the face.. but yes I see the bullet hitting as you described above.

    Almost looks as if there's a slight cone on ADS

    right It takes some serious slow motion, multiple time viewing to see whats going on.. Thats how close these shots seem, and in real time when the game is on its no wonder people wonder whats up with the hitreg... But you can clearly see from these examples the hit reg winning so far !

    I appreciate the feedback Bam, everyone misses.. some miss by a lot.. I know you're teasing but this is a good opportunity to see how tight the hit box or hit reg is..

    If you have to slow down shots and watch a couple times to see the miss.. then i would say the hit reg is as good as it gets!

    However were just getting started here..more to come!

    How tight the hit reg is? What do you mean? The surface of the soldier model is pretty much exactly where the game is detecting collisions. The only issue is network, and I still haven't seen any AAPG LAN parties to max out the performance! If the network isn't performing, the hit reg will appear off. That's not something the Devs can fix. Surely we don't want the game to just "make it up as it goes along" do we?

    Yeah but it should be a lot more clear whether or not I hit someone. I support smaller red dots!

    Maybe they can give us an option to enable hitmarkers on the client side if we want to use them? rather than enforce them off or on globally.
