Limit one account per IP/Mac address? What a really terrible idea.
"I love the Union and the Constitution, but I would rather leave the Union with the Constitution than remain in the Union without it." — Jefferson Davis
My main weapon is not the shotgun, but I have some experience with it. I think it's a specialized tool and not intended to be an all around weapon. The other guns can hammer it on medium-long range, but it has massive potential up close.
About the slug ammo: I personally would find it cool if we has such customization, but it has to be well designed. If you don't alter the rate of fire (and why would used ammo affect that) then the damage values are not easy to balance. If it's still a 1-hit-torso kill up close (and, well, that is the enitre point of a shoutgun), then in my opinion not even slug ammo should have the advantage on e.g. an M4 over long ranges, because up close the slug is significantly better.
I understand that you love the shotgun and I know it's ineffective at long range, but if it would have no drawbacks, it would be simply too powerful.
We've gone over the shotgun many times internally and we're happy with where it is.
I've used the shotgun quite a bit over the course of the game. It's fine as-is IMO. Use FOGs and flashes to close the distance; its intended role is CQB domination and it does that very well. Slugs would potentially turn it into a better M14 or M24.
and yes to 1 account to IP/MAC.. I can go "buy skills", and if I get caught, I'll just go make another account and go back playing 2 minutes later.. It's more proof that dev's don't care if players cheat or not as long as the player count is still going up..
then why not actually work on a AC for the game, AND ask PB to actually update their checks.
and allow player kicks, but just a higher % of yes' from other playing players for it to work at least
When Votekicks 'were' a thing did you ever shoot someone enough times for them to start a witch hunt against you, which literally turns everyone on the server (even those you aint even killed) into a 'yes' voter? all because one guy thinks your either too good to be true.. or he just plain wants you gone.
Getting rid of VK was getting rid of a system of abuse. As good as it's intentional use is.. i'd imagine it's burned far more legitimate players than bad ones. It's enough to be on the end of a wrong admin decision.. or get the boot because PB decides it aint gonna work properly on your PC, for reasons you can't even fathom.. never mind giving the power to remove players to regular joe publics.
Unfortunately a real anti cheat for AAPG costs quite a bit, not only that it needs to be maintained.
Just so that you guys know how hard is is to detect a cheat. The longest running cheat in CSGO is made by a known AA2 cheat creator, since 2014 it's been undetected by VAC. The AAPG version has been undetected forever. Also the amount of possible cheaters in AAPG is extremely low considering the 500 player base. We are talking about 1 maybe two. It's not worth their time.
The hook alone is ridiculously sophisticated. Since it uses a patched windows to by pass a ish-ton of stuff making really hard for detection.
ESEA anti cheat is one of the most invasive anti cheat for CSGO and it still can't catch some PUBLIC cheats. Real, anti cheat with full support just wouldn't pay for AAPG and its player base.
