[RESOLVED] Custom Maps -Mismatch Version- Kicking out players

Set up a server, can put custom maps in rotation and play them, but anyone who doesn't have the map gets kicked..

How can I get people to download custom maps on my server at join?

    They need to have the auto update during gameplay enabled in Steam, but even so it's possible to have different versions on everyone's computer. A Steam restart for everyone, and a server restart always helps because Steam only updates FOR SURE when it first starts. Also, map makers updating during peak Steam traffic can cause a delay in who gets the update.

    :(

    Remember that if you START the server on a UMM, it won't update it till later in the rotation, if at all. So...I force the server updates by starting on a stock map.

    K dont laugh.. too much.
    • Wiped Server to default.
    • Erased all my Custom Maps in steamapps\workshop\content\203290
    • Restarted Steam.
    • Downloaded UMM from Custom Server.
    • Put all Folders\Files from steamapps\workshop\content\203290 into CrookedPC/Maps &
    CrookedPC/UserMadeMaps (Both in Server)
    • Restarted Server, Turned on Steam

    Same issue. What am I missing?
    Do I need to do anything with Workshop in steam?

    Don't move the map files into that folder. It no worky.

  • I have AASteamUGCManager.ini & DefaultSteamUGCManager.ini in my FTPServer files.

    I edited both with IDStrings= to be added with UMM ID's.

    EX: [SteamUGCManager.SteamUGCManager]

    No download present when joining the server just yet. But i'll give it a little bit of time.
    Restarted steam and game.

    was a tear, trying hunting down all those ID's and putting them in UMM and Map folder and then .ini files.

    The semi-colon at the start of the line tells the game to IGNORE that line. Also, what is the EX doing there at the start of it?

    It that a copy of your actual UGC ini?

    Also, what do you mean "FTPserver" ?

    To force a download of a changed UGC ini entry, I restart the server.

  • The "EX:" is just an example of what it looks like, and Yes, that is Directly copied from the UGC file.

    Do I take the ; out?

    I notice no changes with UMM in CookedPC\UserMadeMaps folder.. only thing that makes a difference, is in CookedPC\Maps folder. I can at least change maps that way.

    Took out the semi colon.. now Prompts for Subcribe to Maps before Joining!

  • Premature victory.. Server get stuck on (Server is Downloading UserMadeMaps 1 of 7)
    and everyone gets stuck in WarmUp Mode

  • Well I left it alone for a couple hours. Just tried to get on. Was on start map, Spring Street.
    Instantly said, downloading user map 1 of 1.
    Then kicked me out, saying, "You were kicked from Americas Army 145"

    I cleared everything out. Started from scratch.

    Put in Map ID's into UGC.ini file.
    Subscribed to maps in steam.

    Didn't ask for subscription this time. Thought i had it this time.

    Why did you subscribe to the maps in Steam?

    Also, did you check the Binaries\Win32\SteamApps path to see if the maps were already there?

    How are you starting the server, from a command line, or from the Host A Server tool?

    (The file overwrite is an issue I'm having too!!) :p

  • I'm using the Server host (www.gameservers.com) and I'm using Smart FTP Client to upload maps and files to the server.

    This is starting to get above my pay grade... :)

    Anyone else know how to set up Gameservers stuff? I'm sure the basics are still the same, but I don't have the experience.

    Are you adding them just like this if you add them any different they will not work.
    Copy this and put the numbers in from the maps you want on server.
