The Hardware is good for editing.
Do you have problems on editing, starting the editor or only building/compiling your map.
+starting problems are caused by mapmismatch.
I recommend to begin a new map through the missioneditor (he sets the mapfile up without failures)
After that you can open fulleditor and open your map for editing.
+shut down or other problems while editing are mostly caused by some false parameters, corupted shadercaches, corrupted UV's and so on there are multiple and endless reasons
+building problems or taking long time is caused by no setting up importancevolumes or some settings corrupted.
On big maps you need to set up a lightmapimportancevolume to prevent the editor to get a ramoverflow or taking infinitetime for rendering the shadercaches (lightmass)
Sometimes building will take long(10-40 minutes) caused by many assets in the map/volumes/lights/stairs/ladders -> so dont worry. Editorshutdown is mostly caused by having no pylon for the paths.

One question is this happen on all maps you made or only on one.
Try to build a fully empty map and see what happens.
If its happening on this map too, so you will need to reinstall americas army and the editor once again.
But first save your map to another folder. (it is located on mydocuments/mygames/americasarmy/.../unpublished/saves/...)

If this doesnt happen on the empty map you could select all assets copy them into your ram and then paste them into a new map. (this will work and save your work)

    Hope i could help.

One thing that used to cause crashes, I don't know if it still does, but if you save a package in the content browser, this used to create a file in your unpublished cookedPC folder, and the editor does not like anything being in there.

Check your unpublished map folder (%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\America's Army Proving Grounds\AAGame\Unpublished\CookedPC), there should only be a Maps folder and maybe a LocalShaderCache.upk file. If there is anything else, delete it. Also, if there are any files which are not map files you created, delete them (back them up somewhere else first if you want).

As Mod says, it would help if you can tell us when the error is happening.

Also, you can check the editor log (%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\America's Army Proving Grounds\AAGame\Logs\AAEditor.log), to see if there are file errors listed?
