I know FPS capping and uncapping has been discussed a lot on this forum but I wanted to actually try capping and found this handy app. nvidiaInspector It's a small GPU monitoring app similar to CPUID.
I have a 1080 60Hz monitor so I tried capping at 60 but got a little jerky motion so I capped at 62 and it smoothed out the graphics nicely. I used to be capped at 90 for AAPG but wanted to see if I would notice a difference. At 60 FPS i do see a big difference but at 62 I don't see much advantage over 90. I might have gained about 5*C in cooling by dropping to 62 FPS.
I am also using this app for WT, and capping at 62 to try to eliminate that annoying "enemy warping".
Maybe this app is useful for others?
