Obviously, a matchmaking system is the better way to get fair games, but that is also something hard to achieve in such low numbers. Matchmaking like CS:GO is also a good way to get some longevity since you always get good competition at your level and you get that long term goal of reaching the top.
Maybe its something the game should've had from the beginning, its 2016 after all.
But fight we will.. fight we must.. all hail comp mode

Matchmaking is a good solution but it wont work with the player numbers. What can be promoted is low rank servers but without limiting the new players only to those servers. You can simply blend in the information at server browser or load screen letting those players know about low rank servers and recommend playing those before moving on to other servers.
Or as suggested before reach a certain level at shoothouse before being able to enter other servers. The solution in AA2 was good for example for SF Maps.
I honestly do not understand why we dont get a response about low rank servers from Devs. It shouldn't too hard to implement. Obviously changing the suggested core mechanics would take a longer time and more testing before a release, but limiting servers? It should be not so hard IMO.
I love this community!
Why is such a big bug still in the game? They did bother updating the game to remove the Christmas tree though...
I agree that bug is horrible. Also the bug with getting kicked off server as admin during map switch.
It wasnt there 2 patches ago. At least I didnt have the problem before x-mas tree patch.
First ppl need to agree on those core mechanics changes.. and somewhat I don't see this happening.
Do not underestimate my powers :P

Sounds exciting.
How many would be a success? 10% of current Player base 20%??

if you can get 20% of the current player base to vote, that would be really impressive.

He only needs more votes than current registered forum users. No biggie
At various stages the Devs have been really active on the forums. Soundy's written up a lot of really detailed posts here over the last few months. A year ago we'd on rare occasion even see a Dev make an appearance in clan TeamSpeaks. There's more than a few that play pretty regularly on public servers.
They've also gotten a lot of abuse here; can't say I'd blame them for not wanting to get too involved in discussions.
It's probably easier to wait and speak when they've got something finished than to discuss what they're working on ahead of time and get grief for "why isn't it done already?"
5.3K the amount of regular players this game has. Whoops.
Changes you want made or bugs that need to be fixed? There are lots of threads covering those topics already.
The title of this thread is: Why are players not playing this game?
No one has replied to my comments back on page 4. I guess in the eyes of the experts here they're none issues.
So, let me tell you why I do not play this game as much as I'd like to and nowhere near the amount of time needed to become skilled.
1/ Limited play time due to work/home/family commitments. When I do have a couple of hours to play I don't want to spend the majority of it chasing issues.
2/ I do NOT have access to a solid, reliable high speed connection. The only way I can play this game is in a LAN using someone else's connection or, tether my computer to my mobile phone. Canada has the highest phone rates and for me it's $10 per gig over my monthly data limit. That 2.6 gig update we got would have cost me an extra $30 if I'd been at my limit. During prime time my speeds drop which in turn causes more problems.
3/ High ping. I refrain from internet use for long periods so I can build up a stash of throughput to use just before my month ends. And what happens? I can't play with the big boys because my ping is to high. So I surf down through the servers until I find one I can play and BAM! I get hosed by a clan or group of elite players who use me for honour fodder. Whoopee, I gotz ta play AAPG!
4/ Keebler750 hit it on the nose with his comments below mine back on page 4. Downloading, installing and playing AAPG isn't as easy as it should be. It is a very clunky, frustrating user experience. At least for people like me. I feel part of the blame is on Steam and how they handle things. I'm really upset about not having control over downloads. (But that's another story.)
5/ Game issues. I'm not talking just about bugs that don't get fixed or how one fix breaks something else. I'm also talking about those frustrating things that no one has an answer for. Like, how keyboard commands will work one match but not the next. Or, they somehow come unbound in the middle of a round.
I could go on but, I think you people get the idea. Furthermore, I'm sure I'm not the only one with these issues.
Removing Supported, switching to no HUD or any of the other personal preferences being promoted doesn't address the above 5 areas of concern.
