If you happen to leave your USB plugged in during shut down then unplug it when computer power is off then the next time you boot up and go to plug in your headset you will only get sound out of your right speakers. Plus your G Tray Icon will show no device found.

Made this mistake a couple of times only to load AA and get toasted from messed up sound then having to remove USB and reboot computer. So always unplug USB on shutdown unless you are charging to save you the aggravation.

    Try full-screen windowed mode.

I don't use the USB connection any more. Bought a on-board sound card and plug it into that. My problem with a set of G430s where my directional sound would randomly get reversed mid game. You can imagine how much fun I had with that until I would realise.

So, maybe this is just a WIn 7 (or less) issue since the OS wants you to still "eject" your USB ports instead of a true hot-swap like I have been doing?
