Single Bullet Theory

Yesterday, I saw a teammate with the M24, on AC of Outer Hospital (Defense), shoot and kill 'two' enemies coming out of the 2nd floor lobby with a single shot. Those enemies were lined up almost straight with the shot and only a few feet apart if any.

Does the M24 round (.300 win mag) penetrate the hit boxes of characters and can continue to do damage to another character, or was this some sort of fluke? If True, how much penetrating power does the M24 round have after going through the first hit box?

I already know 'real world' stats on the .300 win mag round but wanted to know game stats.

There is even an achievement for getting 2 kills with one bullet.

This is only a partial answer. Can you do this with any weapon? A 9mm?

I'd like to know when the round looses penetrating power.

M9 pistol double kill confirmed, I got the achievement with that (by accident).
Theory and reality are not that different. In theory.

I see single bullet double kills sometimes and I once was one of two killed by one bullet.

Pawns have a penetration cost of 1 and each player penetrated causes a 10% reduction in bullet damage.

This is an easy one to test, actually. This table shows how many players could theoretically be penetrated before the bullet stops. (So the M4 could hit 3, but not 4, players. An M24 can get a quad-kill at best.)

    M4: 2
    M9: 1
    M14: 3
    M16: 2
    M24: 3
    M249: 2
    870: 0

After getting some very cooperative people into a server... this appears to be how it works.

    So to answer questions directly:

Yes. Its ability to penetrate is reduced by 1 point, so it could still make it through a wall to hit an opponent on the other side. Each 1-point reduction represents a 10% loss in damage.

First enemy killed, second enemy significantly hurt by an upper chest hit

Any weapon except a shotgun. Damage decreases with range, penetration power doesn't as far as I know. Penetration power is only lost through collisions.

Can confirm I have received the kill two enemies with one bullet award with the M4 more than once.

I don't know what to think of your math BCSaccho....I've killed six in testing, unless the code has changed since then...?
