I know of the map but have never actually played or tried it, i'm going to assume it was a popular one since you've took the effort to remake it Looking cool so far, might want to add some foliage to the floor and maybe add some more stuff into the empty spaces of the map, unless of course it was like that and your keeping it legit
Looks like you have caught the mapping bug
If my trollery drives you crazy, you'd better put on your seatbelt.
In the launcher go to workshop and click on the little magnifiying glass icon, it should launch the game and load up the map
There are also ways of doing it by console but its a lot more effort finding the map file in your steam directory and copying its filename having the game already open and tying open [mapnamehere] into the console. So the above way, is the best option other than of course finding it running on a gameserver.

Cheers for that Uni-sol.
Ok here's my quick take on it:
- The map is really too dark for me. I play with DL=off, because of my system specs, so that might be the issue (I don't know).
- The underground area really lacks inspiration, there's barrels and more barrels.
I'd be nice to have an area (even blocked off with a fence) to create more depth/ interest. I believe there's an area like that in Intercept, but I might be mistaken.
- I would bring that area with the picknick benches and fire, towards a more central role or perhaps add a well or something to that effect. This could even tie in with the underground area (accessible or not)
- I am not a great fan of the chess pieces, but that might be personal, also that area could go with more defining character.
- Try and look at mission flow. Think from the players perspective, is it clear where to go..
- Is there a story to be told about the mission, if so can you tell that story via your map?
Training weapons, you could enable it, but that was a demorec bug, otherwise when you "killed" some1 instead of dying they removed their helmet and sit on the floor
WOW graphics have changed, a lot. The heck is that thing on the end of the barrel?
It's from back when AA's "safe" mode was laser tag instead of paintball
From Wikipedia:
The Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System or MILES is used by the U.S. military and other armed forces around the world for training purposes. It uses lasers and blank cartridges to simulate actual battle.
MILES simulation (note the laser emitters attached to the rifles' barrels, and the laser receptors on the soldiers' helmets and harnesses).
Cheers for that Uni-sol.

If you need more input just give us a buzz.
Good luck!
I tried lightening it up quite a bit, but I'll see what more I can do. I use DL, so I'll take that off and see how it works. I'm not sure if there's a way to summon pawns to see how they look in the darker areas. That would also help, I don't want guys to just blend in too much with the darkness.
The underground was tough. In the original map there was just the tunnels with nothing in them. I added in that middle crossing section (with the table and such). I can see what I can do to make it nicer though. The idea was for it to kind of, sort of, to be a wine cave. The whole idea from the start was to make the map more like a farm/vineyard. Then I realized that there were not nearly enough assets in the game for me to make that happen. Either way, I'll see if I can do something along the lines of a closed off area. It may make it more interesting.
I may be able to put this in between the maze type area and the mill type area. Could probably work better.
Yeah, I didn't know what to put in that maze area. The original map just had a building, but I didn't really want to make another building because I didn't have any ideas of what to do there. It's hard to make unique buildings with the limited assets in the game (another warehouse looking area would be boring). So looking through the static mesh pieces I found something that looked similar to chess pieces. I figured it kind of works for a maze. I originally wanted a fountain, but no such thing exists in the standard assets.
It's hard for me to imagine since it's based on a map that I played for years and years. However, it's a single street with four/five buildings... not too complex from what I can tell.
This was the, hey it was supposed to be a farm/vineyard, but I don't have the assets to do it answer

I see now why your map looks so expansive Whip
I'd personally, if I wasn’t going all out full on carbon copy that is.. put a bit of AAPG spin on it and spruce her up a bit.
I did change a bit of it up. The theme is obviously different as much as I can make it. That map was a MOUT map, I obviously shied away from that. I made a couple of the buildings partially outdoors now. Had to add a bunch of stuff to make it so people couldn't spam into those areas, but I think it works fairly well. Also, that maze type thing was previously a building. The middle building was originally a church, I tried to make it more into a mill, but I had nothing to make the inside mill like, so it's more of a warehouse/mill mixture . The underground area I made barrels and such for cover and a middle area to connect the two long tunnel areas. I also completely took away one of the spawn buildings because all it did was encourage people to camp at spawn. In the middle, I added some walls/flowers and such to hopefully prevent spawn spamming (a major issue in the original). I also added other random bits here and there. Also, the textures and assets are entirely based on what the Devs provided for AAPG, nothing from the original AAO.
Otherwise, yeah, the layout is almost identical to the original. I didn't want to change that up too much.

Whip, there is a light actor called "skylight" put that in your map and it will light up the whole map evenly. It's infinite light. Then just go into its properties and adjust the light value to your preference. The default is 1.0000. Drop it to something like 0.1000 and adjust its color to your liking. This will light up all the dark areas and make it more consistent.
1. Converted the mill type place into a restaurant type place.
2. Moved the benches and such next to the restaurant.
3. Converted the maze into a bathroom area.
4. Added a couple random closed off areas into the tunnels.
5. Fixed a few things up.
6. Added the skylight, so hopefully it helps lighten things up slightly.

Added comm volumes
Removed a small thing in the bathroom area that would prevent you from walking
Changed some of the windows in blue building so that grenades can be thrown higher in the air across the main road
Fixed the windows in the tower so that people can't get onto the roof

Hey whip, can I ask how you made the hedges in the hedge maze area? Is it ivy?
I can't find anything like it in the content browser and I was looking for something like that a while back when I was making a version of CoDs Nuketown (that I unfortunately lost to a HDD hiccup).

Looks like I can publish now with the new update. Maybe I'll do that. Although I haven't put comm volumes in yet.

Either way, I don't mind adding more stuff just to spruce it up a bit.
Here's what the original looked like:

AHAHAH my old video, dunno how, but the program I was using at that time made the video slower for some reason.
