In-game chat not working

For some reason I cannot be heard in-game. I have voip activated, key assigned, and my name lights up when I use it. It's just that no once can hear me. Right now I have it set on default as when I tried to set it to other settings I lost all sound in the game. Any and all suggestions would be appreciate and will be tried until all options have been exhausted. Thanks in advance!!!!!

Check your mic volume both physical and in software. I've found my mic volume up but the little mute button on.
