New Opt-In build for August 20th

Tomorrow morning we will be making a new opt-in build live.

Like any other update it should automatically download, or kick off the download when you start the game.

Here are some patch notes!

Weapons:
* Weapon sound updates.
* Weapon smoke FX no longer move with the weapon.
* Bullet impact FX updates.
* Tweaks to grenade FX.
* Fixed missing shotgun shells ejecting.
* M4 and M249 recoil adjustments.

UI:
* Improved AAR screen.
* First iteration of progress on Weapon Challenges.
* Polish on Team Select menu, Settings menu, and Server Browser.
* UI Performance improvements.
* Fixed flickering text indicator for context ("Use") key.
* Fixed issue where crosshair would appear for some weapons that it shouldn't.
* Fixed incorrect message when disarming C4.
* Fixed map votes not timing out.
* Fixed multi-line vote reasons causing vote display to remain up.
* First pass at new bleedout bar.
* Fixed connection error dialog not showing up more than once.
* Fixed vote lists getting corrupted.

Gameplay:
* Fixed some issues with client/server syncing on slide/dive.
* Improved netcode for sending large lists.
* Nearby dropped C4 now has a highlighting effect that is visible through other meshes.
* Game no longer crashes when bringing up Steam overlay during loading screen.
* Fixed cloverleaf camouflage.
* Fixed C4 countdown continuing past round end when planted at alternate bomb site.
* Fixed Takedown context action from overriding lower priority context actions when Takedown is blocked.
* Head/race selection is once again randomized.
* Fixed server crash when using demorec.
* Bleedout time changed to 45 seconds, regardless of where you were hit.

Singleplayer (Training/Explore/Shoothouse):
* Securing the enemy in the training level now allows you to progress.
* Gold Digger achievement is now achievable.
* Completing C4 objectives in Explore mode will no longer lock view indefinitely or ragdoll pawns.

Mission Editor:
* Added a movable Comm Volume for use with Mission Editor.
* Added sound packages for use on UMMs.

Launcher:
* Login failure popup is now brought to the foreground instead of being hidden behind everything.
* Misc polish: fixed rounded corners getting cut off, and transparent pixels on login screen.
* Fixes and updates to Server Configuration and Server Manager tool.

Misc:
* Turned off compression on map files. This increases the game's disk size by ~2GB, but should make future updates smaller in size.
* Improvements to reverb on Crossfire.
* Closed a couple of exploits.
* Screenshot functionality now works in all menus.
* Spectators should no longer be able to call a map-related vote.
* Multiple map-specific fixes
The game wasn't made exactly to my specifications, so I feel it's broken.

    Since it's still not in here, any news about the running nade? It's been confirmed a bug a couple of months ago and it's still in the game.

    Please bug report the exact repro for us (even if you have in the past).
    We've made several attempts to fix that, it's just being rather persistant.
    The game wasn't made exactly to my specifications, so I feel it's broken.

    I'm pretty sure you screwed up the quick throw mechanics while trying to fix that bug unless it was an intentional change. Coming out of sprint you can't immediately use the quick throw anymore like it used to be in open beta.

    Anyway, recorded the bug and will send it in now.

    The update, I'm not sure yet. The total build: 2 GB bigger than the last one.

    By modern game standards our footprint is still pretty stinkin' small though!
    The game wasn't made exactly to my specifications, so I feel it's broken.

    Well, looks like the bug report doesn't work for me. Even downloading the security certificate linked in another thread didn't work for me. Is there any other way to submit a bug? Maybe PMing it? Need to know what's needed then though.

    7,35300 GB + 2 GB

    Can't load the Jira page either. Also tried directly downloading the security certificate you linked in another thread. Send a PM with the bug report though.

    I use Firefox and got a warning first time I was there. You have to ignore that warning and accept the security certificate and then go back to the bug report link. If you can't I don't know what to do other than try different browsers.
    For me it works on 4 different browsers.

    I have also noticed my nade not coming out sometimes when the key is pressed. I have to press it again but by then the opportunity is gone. Changed the key to something else for testing and it still happens.

    Steam says it'll be a 3.8GB update. On the plus side, while previous updates have tended to be around the 1-2GB range, future updates should be much smaller (depending on what's changed).

    Anyone who wants help writing a bug report or who can't submit one at the Profile bug report link can post them here in "Game Support" or PM someone such as a Dev or beta tester. There's a lot of interest in using this Opt-In to hammer out last minute bugs as the game heads to its final release date.

    Remember, some bugs such as sounds may be map related so...WHERE the bug was seen or heard is important. ALL bugs will be fixed quicker if you know what steps will make them happen over and over.

    I've met some very helpful players out in the servers who wanted to explain a bug they had found.
