My impressions about this opt are great. Didnt play any of previous opt versions so i come clear from the open beta.
I had the impression that the use of m249 is a bit easier with same recoil of the m4. It might be just an impression but other had the same idea on the server i was in.
What i liked the most are the new graffic treatment in comms and messages and the new opfor weapons.
About the gameplay i felt like playing some sort of hybrid BF. The opt has some sort of Grafic Novels feeling when playing what is really nice in my experience with the game.
The phisics when shooting opfor and they falling are ecstatic, I saw a guy being shot by my gun and just fade away fast kneeling down. Great job.
Love the new Design.... definitely heading in the right direction wish the full map toggle would get more attention to detail, but other than that great job Devz.
i'm not interested in playing a 10 month old build of a game that doesn't at all resemble what will be release version. the devs should change the default download to the most up-to-date version. especially important to make this move since the opt-in servers are empty.

most people playing open beta don't even know that version is legacy and not representative of the final product. the responsibility falls on the dev team to relay that message to the players. you do that by pulling the plug on the old version BEFORE the "release" day of the final build. to soften the blow on release day. to try to convert as many as possible to the new changes BEFORE release day. else release day will be a riot.
-
have some confidence in the changes between the 2 versions and get out there and try to win over the fans of the old version. before release day! very important.
-
you can't win those people over if you allow them to continue to play the old version. period. you have to cut them off. really, this attachment people have with the old version could have been avoided if the open beta was patched more frequently, instead of going dark back october last year and announcing a release date and coming out with a version almost a year later that scares everyone away because it is so different... who's fault is it that people refuse to give this version a chance?

Well that’s you and that’s fine, play the Opt-In. However, others want/need the ability to switch back to Open Beta.
Its probably been stated in other posts, I know it’s been hinted at several times but, the answer is simple. There are many well liked UMM’s that are being hosted and played. It's my understanding that these maps will not work in the new Opt-In version. Map makers do not want to convert old or start new maps at this time of transition. When the game is closer to release and the Map Editor is updated and stable then they will set about to create/update their master works.
Therefore, to accommodate people who enjoy the old version or want to play any of the hundreds of UMM’s the Dev’s need to keep the Open Beta alive for now.
Well agenst better judgement I tried it and now I know why they are keeping the first beta going, this is like two steps back and then some. Keep up the good work and i'll keep checking back, good luck !!!
Don't delete it though, @veek.borg ...a patch may come along that'll change your mind. Just keep the Opt-In in a folder until the next time you want to play it. Somewhere around here there are several examples of how to do it. Then, it'll update with a patch in Steam and you're good to go!

One thing I am starting to hate is being on defense and assault has a sniper with a good shot and he picks guys off crossing train to north. It can slow defense down from getting to north. Not saying it should be altered so this can't happen at this time. There is ways around it. But when I think about it how else can you get to north on defense but through that way? It's kinda OP but its a difficult shot. So I am uncertain on this at this time. But yes I like overload a lot much better than the older/newer 12v12's as of late...ie slums, redline, cold front. (I am fan of cold front.) Also another thing I don't like is the intercept tunnel assault runs into the tunnel and it is so narrow that you can be shooting someone at the other steps and you will have another guy sitting in the corner of that tunnel to the right of you and he will choke you out. You don't even have to time to turn around and look because obviously you are going to check stairs first. I think this should be fixed. It's an easy and lame choke, it makes going tunnels on assault fairly useless with lots of players.
I already play a beta before and hated, tried to play this new one before the FINAL RELEASE and hated again.
My opinion:
Graphics - To dark to play, even with gamma at full white, maybe i'm getting blind don't know; The hud looks like my room when i don't clean it, what a mix of things and they don't highlight from the game; Map radar doesn't have information like proving grounds; Changed graphics stuff in video options, and graphics didn't change very much. REAL BAD graphics in my opinion.
Gameplay - Let's say with bad graphics I didn't shoot much because i couldn't see enemy loool. There are a few things that I noticed, first the recoil is really bad, then the free move it looks like the we have weights on us and other thing is the response on pressing the keys, i noticed some late response.
Sound - Horrible sound, it looks like and old vinyl record, then the surrond is tottaly bad, I heard a guy on the right and he appears on the left (and no, i didn't have the headphones side changed lool).
Conclusion:
Maybe I already got used to AAPG and for me this BETA is bad but I noticed that this beta is approaching the AA3 graphics and gameplay that so many players of AA2 abandoning because it got bad, I'm one of them, and i noticed beacause it doesn't have many players on the list of servers and the official EU server had 0 players maybe because its a beta, not sure. If the final release it will be near this beta i don't know if I will play this more.
I played again last night and the sounds are starting to warm up to me however still tons of work needs to be done which has been stated in previous post no need to repeat.
I would like to say I don't care for the bright yellow highlight when you are choosing a server on the server browser. Makes it hard to read when a server is highlighted. But the rest of the U.I looks great
I also have to re-launch the browser every time I leave a server
Scenario- I join a server to see if I can steal a spot nobody gives up a spot oh well let's find a new server
I exit the server and it takes me all the way out and now I have to re-launch the server browser and repeat that process 3 or 4 times until I finally find a server is a little much please make this process easier or tell me what I am doing wrong.
Comments
Also the server browser should really show who is playing in the server before you join in.
I am not sure if this is a bug but our server kept crashing with some maps in rotation
- flo watchdog AC for instance
anyone else had similar problem?
And we have had a lot of traffic on them.

I can make the same sounds shaking 3 beans in an empty beer can. Doesn't anyone know sound effects? At least George Pal unscrewed his can in a toilet.
(see War of the Worlds 1953) and that was in mono!
