11yr old tweaks FPS from 75 to 125

My 11yr old son is totally into Minecraft. Since I did a new build, I gave him my last one, AMD X2 64, 8GB (DDR2 800), and nVidia 750ti SC. Originally, he was getting 75 FPS. After a day or so of tweaking, he got up to a stable level of 125 FPS while keeping graphic settings high. He has a smaller 19'' monitor with lower resolution than my 1080, (1440x900), but I think he did a great job and I'm glad to see him learning learning this stuff.

Maybe I should start asking him to help me? B)

Never underestimate them. I also have a 11 year old, and I learn thing or two from him from time to time.

I wish! My eldest is 13.. but she's not into computers, she likes make-up and boys!

I'm not looking forward to my sons growing older, they already kick my butt on COD. I blame it on me being a PC gamer

If my trollery drives you crazy, you'd better put on your seatbelt.

I know what you mean. My two older girls are college graduates. They loved Barbie-dolls and Polly-Pockets. The oldest would watch me play the ol' Mario on Nintendo when she was like 7 yrs old but never touched the controller. All they used later were laptops for My Space and Facebook mess.

Now I am enjoying gaming with my son. I just need to push him more on FPShooters. The years go so fast! Enjoy before the "terrible-teen" years. :'(

With a attention span of a garden slug on beer, its not a good idea...

(speaking of garden slugs, me and the wife used to shoot them, called it "moving targets".. :D )
