whenever i go into my personal jacket it says that the internet may be down or the authorization server may be undergoing maitnence...

Are you using AA2.8.5?

Also, what firewalls do you have and are using?

If you're able to login here - http://login.americasarmy.com/, this indicates a firewall issue.

Please ensure that ArmyOps.exe is being allowed full internet access through your firewall. The process is
located in the C:\Program Files\America's Army\System folder.

Also allow these processes through any other software capable of blocking
them. (ESET, Peer Guardian, Norton, etc)

Additionally, these ports need to be open through any router:

UDP:
1716 for the Game
1717 for the GameQuery
1718 for the Master Server Query
8777 for the Standard UT Query
27900 for GameSpy

TCP:
28910 for GameSpy
20025-45 for MBS Game Server
20046 for the Auth server
20047 for MBS
20048 for DCDS
14200 for LAN
