Your PC is infected with Spyware, Trojan or a Virus.
Applies to Windows XP Home, Pro, and 2000 Users

If you are running Vista please view:

http://www.evenbalance.com/ind...faq.php

Make sure you have visited this thread prior to coming here and preformed the resolution.

Spyware, Trojans and Virii can be very tricky to remove and identify. There is no 100% single application to remove all the different variants. The absolute best way to clean your system is manually.

To understand what is happening on your PC, there are various policies that control privileges on your PC. Spyware, trojans and virii change these policies so that they can control your PC and have the proper privileges to work their malicious activity. The unfortunate outcome is they often turn off or remove certain admin privileges inside the policy to prevent them from being removed. When this happens, PB can no longer function correctly with admin privileges to scan various areas inside the O/S. When this happens you receive the following kick message.
Quote:

ScriptLog: HC::TM() KICK NOTIFICATION: <players name> has been kicked for an undefined reason: YOU HAVE BEEN KICKED VIA PUNKBUSTER (FOR 0 MINUTES) ... RESTRICTION: INADEQUATE O/S PRIVILEGES

If you want assistance cleaning your system manually. I will need to see two logs, both hijackthis and winpfind. The downloads and instructions are list below. You need to do the four steps below aswell before you generate the logs.

1) Download HiJackThis = Extract it and Run HiJackThis.exe
Choose Scan System and Make Log
NOTE: HiJackthis is not something to be played with if you are not aware of processes and needed applications. It deal directly with the registry.

2) Download WinPFind3U to your Desktop and double-click on it to extract the files.
It will create a folder named WinPFind3u on your desktop.
Open the WinPFind3u folder and double-click on WinPFind3U.exe to start the program.

    1) In the 'Files Created Within' group click 30 days,
    2) In the 'Files Modified Within' group select 30 days
    3) In the 'File String Search' group select Non-Microsoft

Now click the Run Scan button on the toolbar.
When the scan is complete Notepad will open with the report file loaded in it.
Paste the information back here in your next reply.
Make sure "end of report" is shown at the bottom.
NOTE: WINPFIND3U replaces the original winpfind.

Please read below the four steps for Preparing for Spyware, Trojans and Virus removal .

1. Disable your system restore feature.
Right Click on My Computer Icon
    Choose Properties
    Choose System Restore Tab
Check the box to turn off system restore
    Choose Apply and Ok
    Close
(you do this in case you need to restore at a later date, so that you do not reinfect your computer)

2. Show All Files and Hidden Folders
Double Click on My Computer Icon
    Choose Tools
    Choose Folder Options
    Choose View Tab
Check Show All Files and Hidden Folders
Uncheck Hide extensions of known file types
Uncheck Hide Protected Operating System Files
    Choose Apply
    Choose Apply to All Folders
Choose Yes to message that pops up
    Choose OK
    Close

3. Run Disk Cleanup to Empty Temp Folders
    Go to Start...Programs...Accessories...System Tools
    Choose Disk Cleanup
    Choose boxes
    downloaded program files
    temporary internet files
    recycle bin
    temporary files

    Choose Ok
(note: you can choose them all if you would like, but the above is the only ones required for this cleaning process.)

4. Verify you are in Normal Startup
    Go to Start....Run.....Type:msconfig
Choose Selective Start up and Use original Boot.ini
    Choose Apply and Ok
    PC will Reboot
    Go back to msconfig
    Choose Normal Startup
    Choose Apply and Ok
    PC will reboot again

I will then review your logs and identify the malicious files. Then give you instructions on removing them.
If you have questions or are unsure, ask. There are no dumb questions. And better to stop and ask then make a mistake.

Cleaning usually takes several stages...post new logs with each completetion of given instructions
The Final steps will include.
Run vx2finder and Restore policy

NOTE: After Successful Gaming
Reverse the Steps #1 and #2
In order to reactivate your System Restore and Hide system files for protection.
Testing the game
