1 other point-When the 249 lays down SF for his squad (rightly so-to a point I believe)he is also exposing himself to RF from opposing forces. If in fact it is spamming,i.e.serving no purpose, that individual won't last very long.More and more I notice teammates encouraging teamplay.....Nice to see when that happens.

I strongly agree with these posts.

I love using suppresive fire with the m249. Unfortunately, it's when people blind fire with the m203 to kill someone at spawn that makes me angry.

Heh I was using my saw for good suppression one day, and my team was all complaining at me to not "waste" the best cqb weapon...

How has this gun turned into an mp5 in AA?

Nice post, that's why they made the rate of fire for the m249 a little bit less in like 2.0 I think it was, to make it more of a suppressive fire gun.

I couldn't agree more, and am happy to hear someone else saying this. For those that wish some ammo to back this up check out the link in my earlier post.

Completly Agreed, when I get the SAW I normally use it for supressive fire and not point fire. Suppressive seems to be alot more effective too since it keeps them down and my team can then get them.

Using the SAW like a CQC weapon is, well, ... you're not using it like you're supposed to. Of course, the SAW as a CQC weapon will rip ... no, no, tear ... naa ... PLOW through the OpFor. But the SAW is mainly a support weapon, not a primary.

With the SAW 'spamming' (I don't like that word; it's used as a derogitive word), it will keep the OpFor worried about the AR slot and not about the guy 3 feet away from them ready with a nade.

Too true.
I really cant wait for extra training, maybe there will be some in depth combat exercises when AI is introduced, people on public servers might then comprehend the meaning of teamwork, and the proper use of certain weapons.

The only "Spam" I've ever complained about was RPG spam on hospital, as I felt it was unrealistic. But, to be perfectly honest, whenever you take away the frequent explosions, alot of atmosphere is lost and has to be compensated for somehow.
I never used the 203 on bridge, but I really rather enjoyed dodging 203 drop shots, it was fun, and I miss it.

I just love when someone starts suppressing with looooong bursts on bridge when I have a sniper rifle, especially the M-82. I sight in on the center of the tracers and BLAM. I get a kill only a quarter of the time, but it sure shuts em up fast.

The main purpose for the M249 SAW is to lay down surpressing fire and keep the enemies head's down. So i dont care if someone just blows 249 ammunition.....or 203 ammunition.....in my opinion, thats good techique if you do that b/c you kill people dont you? This is my own personal opinion and i am sure i will get yelled at by some people.
