This past summer has been a busy one for America's Army Real Hero, SFC John Adams.
He spent the majority of the summer touring with the VAE to various locations such as Offutt AFB and Scott AFB, both located in Illinois. During his tour, he was able to spend some quality time with old friends, who are also Soldiers, and family members. A rare treat for a Soldier on the go!

Awesome news! I missed the VAE when it came through here a while back, and I was kinda bummed. That would have been cool to see.

He's called SGT and SFC in the same post. It took me a little bit to figure out what he meant, too.
On a related note, "cool!" 
The presentation of the action figure to the Mayor must have been a pretty cool experience.
Edit: I just realized I have once again made the grievous mistake of posting in a non-R&R forum, thus resulting in the complete destruction of my "1234" post count. I give up. It wasn't meant to be.

I was just in Nebraska last summer... and visited Offutt AFB. You posted that it is located in Illinois? Are there two Offutt AFB?
The one in Nebraska is home of Airforce One.

I think you're confused. The first one was at Offutt, the second one in Illinois is Scott AFB.
