Hello. Ive just downloaded AA 2.8.5 installed it, updated and done the same with punkbuster etc. Everything went smooth. I signed in and thought that i would have a problem with an empty server list because that is what happened when i played years ago but no this time i have a full list but i cant join any games, I click join server and nothing happens at all no error messages or crashes it just doesnt respond.
If anyone can help it would be much appreciated, thankyou :)

Check your firewalls, make sure AA has permissions
Also check your router port settings are open for the game

I made sure that my firewalls allow AA i even tried it with them turned off and it still wont let me join a server- although when i turn my firewalls off it does start the connecting map loading screen but then it just says connection failed. I managed to find out how and did log on to my router settings i followed some port forwarding site added allowed all the ports etc and still every server i try to join i get connection failed - this makes no sense.

After you did the port settings, did you reboot the router

Ive rebooted my computer and router. Still "connection failed". I followed a guide on portforward to setup a static ip. still "connection failed". Uninstalled/reinstalled the game along with punkbuster and still i cant join any server "connection failed". Any other possible solutions would be much appreciated.

Can you remove the router and plug the computer directly into the modem and test it?

search your logfile for your username followed by an error,

My internet is provided by Virgin Media and they've supplied me with a Netgear VMDG280 which i think is both a router and modem but it is plugged directly into my PC. When i used to play AA a few years ago i had the same setup and it worked then.
How and where do i search my logfile?

You are looking for a file named armyops.log, which will be a text file located in c:\program files\america's Army\system.

Open it with notepad and then do a search for your player name and look for any lines associated with an error and paste them in to a post here. That way we can get a better idea of what the problem is.
