This isn't a demand its a request/suggestion:

Sure, I can login and play 2.8.5, but it still runs WAY to slow and the gameplay
is no where near as good as 2.5 and AA3 won't even load for me. I'm on a Dell pc,
with a 256MB onboard video. Knock it if you want, but it runs just fine, except here
and its still practically new.

So my suggestion:

How about 2 versions running, just not the two you have listed?
Dump 2.8.5, why have 2 active versions that are both high system requirements?!??
Give the fast pc users AA3 and give us foot soldiers a version like 2.5 that actually
runs fast on a regular system. Plus that 2 GB download drives people away by the
thousands, just because of size alone. Apparently, size does matter!

The U.S. Army, Marines, Air Force and Navy is about training and skill.
So why are system specs in this game/training tool a constant issue,
every since your changes? You people don't make any since at all.

Happy Thanksgiving, Now give me my game back. k?

xoxo :)_

High system requirements? I thought the requirements for AA2 were bare-bone sort of requirements, and AA3 isn't much higher than that.

2 GB download drives people away? Can't imagine what those same people would do if they had to download a more modern game. 2 GB is nothing to make an argument over.

/end counter-rant.

But I'm sure you can download 2.5 still and find servers out there, thought I saw some units recruiting for it not long ago.

PC doesn't meet the minimum system requirements.

There is no current development on the AA2 series.

TBH, the requirements are ahead of its time, and even now, AA3's the same thing.

I do have a bit of a sore spot about the requirements for AA2 though. Newer computers should be able to run AA2 better than older ones. if it's too slow, it would have to be your computer. I've got a 5+ year old computer running AA2, and as long as a server doesn't lag, there's no trouble at all. or maybe it's the fact ur using a Dell (I dunno)

2GB is pretty big, actually. There are a lot of simpler games on Steam that take up much less space than that. However, with newer PCs, the storage space is much bigger than it was for 2.5.

my question is, what specifically is "2 versions running"? there's only 2, and it's either AA3 or AA2, both being the most recent ones (at least in the supported case).

for unsupported, you'd likely be able to find anything up to 2.5 to date, so the choice is ultimately yours. being that they're available, doesn't mean everyone will flock to them instead of the new ones we have now. if that were the case, it would have to already be 2.5 being the dominant force of the community, instead of some who have already rage-quit after AA3 began.
